Before he joined Sandtable in 2019, Nick spent three years building predictive models for sports trading, where he developed an interest in basketball (go Pels!) and American football (go Dolphins!) to go with his love of football and cricket. Before this, he completed a PhD in theoretical physics, studying the thermodynamics of certain types of black holes.
As part of his work at Sandtable, Nick particularly enjoys thinking carefully about the various factors that can influence behaviour, and how to model these in a way that is both clear and comprehensive. He has worked on models of supermarket competition and the influence of advertising, and is keen to learn more about each new field he works in.
Outside of work Nick likes to spend his free time drinking dark beer, listening to indie music, or reading about world history. Unfortunately, he actually spends his free time doing DIY.
